Tamil Nadu Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar emphasized that medical research and technological advancements must benefit remote villages lacking healthcare access. Speaking at the 66th annual conference of the National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMSCON 2026) in Kattankulathur, he called for research to focus on underserved populations. The four-day event gathered over 1,400 medical professionals to discuss healthcare developments. Topics included antimicrobial resistance, CAR-T cell therapy, diabetes research, and pandemic preparedness, alongside discussions on robotic surgery and tuberculosis management.

तमिलनाडु के राज्यपाल राजेंद्र विश्वनाथ आर्लेकर ने इस बात पर जोर दिया कि चिकित्सा अनुसंधान और तकनीकी प्रगति का लाभ उन दूरदराज के गांवों को मिलना चाहिए जहाँ स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं की पहुँच नहीं है। उन्होंने कट्टनकुलथुर में नेशनल एकेडमी ऑफ मेडिकल साइंसेज (NAMSCON 2026) के 66वें वार्षिक सम्मेलन में बोलते हुए कहा कि अनुसंधान वंचित आबादी पर केंद्रित होना चाहिए। चार दिवसीय इस कार्यक्रम में 1,400 से अधिक चिकित्सा पेशेवरों ने स्वास्थ्य सेवा के विकास पर चर्चा के लिए भाग लिया। इसमें एंटीमाइक्रोबियल प्रतिरोध, CAR-T सेल थेरेपी, मधुमेह अनुसंधान और महामारी की तैयारी जैसे विषयों के साथ-साथ रोबोटिक सर्जरी और तपेदिक प्रबंधन पर भी चर्चा हुई।
