UP Police Under Judicial Scrutiny for FIR, Charge Sheet Filing Errors

Uttar Pradesh Police's actions and investigations are facing scrutiny from the Supreme Court and Allahabad High Court. Concerns have been raised regarding FIR registration, evidence collection, record maintenance, arrest procedures, and charge sheet filing. Recent cases highlight discrepancies like naming arrested individuals as unknown in FIRs, conflicting arrest and custody dates, and delays in release despite court orders. The Allahabad High Court even reviewed ten charge sheets to assess compliance with its directives. The Supreme Court has considered CBI investigation for cases if UP Police's probe continues similarly.

उत्तर प्रदेश पुलिस के कामों और जांचों पर सुप्रीम कोर्ट और इलाहाबाद हाई कोर्ट की नजर है। FIR दर्ज करने, सबूत इकट्ठा करने, रिकॉर्ड रखने, गिरफ्तारी और चार्जशीट फाइल करने के तरीकों पर चिंता जताई गई है। हाल के मामलों में कुछ गड़बड़ियां सामने आई हैं, जैसे गिरफ्तार लोगों का FIR में अज्ञात बताना, गिरफ्तारी और हिरासत की तारीखों में अंतर, और कोर्ट के आदेश के बावजूद रिहाई में देरी। इलाहाबाद हाई कोर्ट ने तो अपने निर्देशों के पालन की जांच के लिए दस चार्जशीट की समीक्षा भी की। सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने कहा है कि अगर यूपी पुलिस की जांच ऐसे ही चलती रही तो CBI जांच पर विचार किया जा सकता है।
