Delhi experienced heavy security on Saturday as police detained over 7,000 protestors heading to Jantar Mantar, including four former chief ministers: Pinarayi Vijayan, Manik Sarkar, Arvind Kejriwal, and Mamata Banerjee. The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) called the protest against alleged malpractices by the Chief Election Commissioner during electoral roll revisions. Forty-five metro stations were closed, and barricades were erected, leading to accusations of a crackdown on democratic rights. While most detainees were released by night, CJP leaders remain in custody, prompting a demand for their immediate release.
