Hospital Failed To Protect Babies From Nurse

A public inquiry has blamed the Countess of Chester Hospital for a "complete failure at all levels" to protect newborns from neonatal nurse Lucy Letby. The inquiry, led by Lady Justice Kathryn Thirlwall, found the hospital could have prevented the deaths of seven babies and attempted murders of six others between June 2015 and June 2016. Thirlwall noted errors by staff and a failure to invoke safeguarding procedures.
