Indian Rupee Slips to 94.50 Amid Rising Oil Prices and Stock Market Decline
Times of India · stocks
The Indian Rupee weakened by 12 paise in early trade on Thursday, reaching 94.50 against the US dollar. This decline was attributed to rising crude oil prices and a downturn in the domestic equity market, with the BSE Sensex dropping over 600 points and the NSE Nifty50 falling more than 240 points. However, a softer dollar and lower US treasury yields provided some support, limiting the overall fall. Analysts expect the rupee to trade with a slight positive bias due to potential IPO inflows and dollar weakness.
