India's smartphone sales saw a significant 10% decline in the first quarter of 2023, marking the steepest drop in three years. The budget segment, particularly phones priced below ₹15,000, experienced a drastic 45% plunge year-on-year. This downturn is largely attributed to increased prices and a shift in consumer preference towards more premium devices.
