TDP Fields First-Time Corporator Mukka Sravani For Vizag Mayor Post

Times of India · politics

Defying expectations, the TDP has selected 32-year-old Mukka Sravani, a first-time corporator, for the Visakhapatnam mayor's post. Sravani, who won by over 2.5 lakh votes, is a physiotherapy diploma holder from the Turpu Kapu community. Her selection is attributed to her family's long association with the TDP and her dedicated grassroots work as a corporator. She was elected from ward 26 in 2021, the only ward the TDP won in her assembly constituency that year. This move signals the party's preference for young leaders with grassroots experience.
