Apple Pay Launches in India Supporting Axis Bank Credit Cards on Visa, Mastercard

Apple Pay has officially launched in India, initially supporting Visa and Mastercard credit cards issued by Axis Bank. This expansion makes India one of over 90 countries where the digital payment service is available. Users can make contactless payments in stores and online using their iPhones and iPads. While Apple Pay does not yet support UPI or RuPay cards, the company plans to add more issuers and merchants. Apple emphasizes its commitment to user privacy, stating that transaction information is not retained by the company.
