Delhi Police detained CJP founder Abhijit Dipke and two others upon their arrival in the capital, citing a planned protest at Jantar Mantar that was denied permission. Dipke's grandmother, 85-year-old Savitribai Shankarrao Dipke, passed away in Maharashtra. Police informed Dipke of his grandmother's death and offered assistance for him to travel home on humanitarian grounds. The protest was reportedly to demand the resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner. Thousands were detained in Delhi amid heavy security as protesters attempted to reach Jantar Mantar.
