40,000 Power Staff Strike Against Private Discom Entry in Gurugram, Nuh

Around 40,000 electricity department employees began a three-day strike on Thursday against the Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission's decision to grant a licence to a private company for power distribution in Gurugram and Nuh. The strike has disrupted electricity and water supplies, impacting industrial production and essential services across the state. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini stated the government will challenge the HERC's decision before the Appellate Tribunal for Electricity. Various employee unions and farmer organisations have extended their support to the ongoing protest.

लगभग 40,000 बिजली विभाग के कर्मचारियों ने गुरुवार को हरियाणा इलेक्ट्रिसिटी रेगुलेटरी कमीशन (HERC) के गुरुग्राम और नूंह में बिजली वितरण के लिए एक प्राइवेट कंपनी को लाइसेंस देने के फैसले के खिलाफ तीन दिवसीय हड़ताल शुरू कर दी है। इस हड़ताल से राज्य भर में बिजली और पानी की आपूर्ति बाधित हुई है, जिससे औद्योगिक उत्पादन और आवश्यक सेवाओं पर असर पड़ा है। मुख्यमंत्री नायब सिंह सैनी ने कहा कि सरकार HERC के फैसले को इलेक्ट्रिसिटी के अपीलीय न्यायाधिकरण (Appellate Tribunal for Electricity) के समक्ष चुनौती देगी। विभिन्न कर्मचारी यूनियनों और किसान संगठनों ने चल रहे विरोध प्रदर्शनों का समर्थन बढ़ाया है।
