Times of India · india

BMC has launched an extensive sanitation drive for the upcoming festive period, deploying approximately 800 additional sanitary workers. These workers will operate in shifts to ensure pandals and surrounding areas remain clean. Special arrangements include one sanitation supervisor for every four pandals and door-to-door waste collection vehicles for disposable plates and other waste. Mechanical sweeping vehicles will also be used at night for major pandals. This initiative aligns with BMC’s zero-waste litter policy, emphasizing scientific waste processing and a ban on single-use plastics.

Bhubaneswar Civic Body
