Cauvery Bridge Reopens After ₹10 Crore Repair Work On Chennai-Tiruchi-Madurai Highway

The Cauvery bridge on the Chennai-Tiruchi-Madurai National Highway has reopened for traffic after extensive repair and maintenance work. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) undertook the ₹10 crore project, which included replacing 120 bridge bearings and repairing 16 expansion joints. The bridge, originally built in 1963, had been closed since June 25, causing significant traffic congestion in Tiruchi and surrounding areas. Its reopening is expected to provide much-needed relief to commuters, especially with the festival season approaching.

चेन्नई-तिरुचि-मदुरै नेशनल हाईवे पर कावेरी पुल मरम्मत और रखरखाव के बड़े काम के बाद यातायात के लिए फिर से खोल दिया गया है। नेशनल हाईवे अथॉरिटी ऑफ इंडिया (NHAI) ने ₹10 करोड़ की इस परियोजना को हाथ में लिया था, जिसमें 120 ब्रिज बेयरिंग बदलना और 16 एक्सपेंशन जॉइंट की मरम्मत शामिल थी। मूल रूप से 1963 में बना यह पुल 25 जून से बंद था, जिससे तिरुचि और आसपास के इलाकों में भारी ट्रैफिक जाम हो रहा था। इसके खुलने से यात्रियों को बड़ी राहत मिलने की उम्मीद है, खासकर त्योहारी सीजन नजदीक आने के साथ।
