TV9 Hindi · business

RBI has intensified its oversight of substantial overseas direct investments (ODI) made by Indian companies. This move comes amid challenges in managing the rupee's value against the dollar and outflows by foreign portfolio investors. Banks are now required to submit detailed checklists for all foreign investments exceeding $1 billion or those surpassing four times a company's net worth. The RBI is not imposing a ban but is demanding thorough justification and financial scrutiny for these outbound funds.
