World Boxing has officially distanced itself from former president Boris van der Vorst's visit to India, stating he has no authority to represent the global body. This clarification comes amidst an ongoing power struggle within the Boxing Federation of India (BFI). Van der Vorst was seen publicly endorsing incumbent BFI president Ajay Singh, while a rival faction seeks Singh's removal. World Boxing's governance director confirmed van der Vorst ceased being president in November 2025 and is not authorized to speak for the organization.
