The Better India · lifestyle
In Mathura's Hussaini village, five women, including 26-year-old Anchal, have learned to run a mustard oil unit, transforming their lives. Initially facing resistance from families who believed women should not work outside the home, these women persevered. Anchal, who earns Rs 5,000-6,000 monthly, contributes to her children's treatment while managing household duties. The Hussaini Mustard Oil Enterprise, established in 2023 with a Rs 14 lakh investment, has provided these women with economic independence and boosted their confidence. Their success demonstrates a shift in traditional gender roles within the community.
