Former Bharatpur Maharaja Vishvendra Singh Quits Congress, Citing Self-Respect
Times of India · politics
Former Rajasthan minister and Bharatpur Maharaja Vishvendra Singh announced his departure from the Congress party on Friday. Singh cited his conscience and hurt from statements by some party leaders as reasons for his decision. He expressed that he could no longer tolerate "wrong policies" and preferred to "die with self-respect" rather than suffocate. This move follows a public dispute with state party president Govind Singh Dotasra over the recent urban local body elections, where Singh blamed district leaders for the Congress's performance.
