Madras High Court Upholds Trust's Ownership of Prime Chennai Land

The Madras High Court's Division Bench has overturned a single judge's order to reclaim 7.44 acres of prime land in Chennai from the Sri Ramachandra Educational and Health Trust. The bench ruled that a single judge lacked the authority to issue such directives in a writ petition. Consequently, the court set aside previous orders that had quashed a 1998 government order allowing the sale of the land to the trust and the 2007 sale price fixation.

मद्रास हाईकोर्ट की डिवीज़न बेंच ने श्री रामचंद्र एजुकेशनल एंड हेल्थ ट्रस्ट से चेन्नई की 7.44 एकड़ प्राइम ज़मीन वापस लेने के सिंगल जज के आदेश को पलट दिया है। बेंच ने कहा कि एक सिंगल जज के पास रिट याचिका में ऐसे निर्देश जारी करने का अधिकार नहीं था। नतीजतन, कोर्ट ने ट्रस्ट को ज़मीन की बिक्री की अनुमति देने वाले 1998 के सरकारी आदेश को रद्द करने और 2007 में बिक्री मूल्य तय करने के पिछले आदेशों को रद्द कर दिया।
