A 19-meter-high iron truss collapsed during dandiya celebrations at MVSR Engineering College in Hyderabad on October 17, killing a 19-year-old student and injuring 22 others. An investigation revealed the truss was erected on only two supporting pillars instead of the required four. हैदराबाद के MVSR इंजीनियरिंग कॉलेज में 17 अक्टूबर को डांडिया उत्सव के दौरान 19 मीटर ऊँचा लोहे का ढाँचा गिर गया। इसमें 19 साल के एक छात्र की मौत हो गई और 22 अन्य घायल हो गए। जांच में पता चला कि ढाँचा चार की बजाय सिर्फ दो सपोर्टिंग पिलर पर खड़ा किया गया था। कार्यक्रम के आयोजकों और ढाँचा लगाने वाले तीन लोगों ने पुलिस के सामने सरेंडर कर दिया है। जांचकर्ताओं ने ढाँचे की सुरक्षा में गंभीर खामियाँ, अपर्याप्त सावधानियाँ और लगाने के समय खराब मौसम की अनदेखी पाई है।
