The Aurangabad division graduates' constituency election is shaping up to be a contest between SP and Sunetra Pawar's NCP, despite Shiv Sena (UBT) also fielding a candidate. This election marks the first major poll battle in Marathwada since Ajit Pawar's death, with both NCP factions aiming to assert their claim to the party's legacy among educated voters. NCP (SP) has nominated Pratapsinh Patil against three-term MLC Satish Chavan of the NCP.
