Karnataka Hospitals Must Display Key Procedure Rates At Reception Counters

Karnataka's health minister UT Khader has directed private hospitals to display price charts for important medical procedures at their reception counters. This aims to help patients make informed choices about their healthcare. Hospitals will list rates of key procedures on large boards and maintain registers for others. The minister also stated that hospitals should not withhold bodies over unpaid bills and a policy will be formulated to address this. Discussions will also be held with the Centre regarding restricting foreign investment in healthcare and potentially imposing price caps.

कर्नाटक के स्वास्थ्य मंत्री यूटी खादर ने निजी अस्पतालों को निर्देश दिया है कि वे अपने रिसेप्शन काउंटर पर ज़रूरी मेडिकल प्रक्रियाओं के रेट चार्ट प्रदर्शित करें। इसका मकसद मरीजों को उनके स्वास्थ्य सेवा के बारे में सूचित निर्णय लेने में मदद करना है। अस्पताल बड़े बोर्डों पर मुख्य प्रक्रियाओं की दरें सूचीबद्ध करेंगे और अन्य के लिए रजिस्टर बनाए रखेंगे। मंत्री ने यह भी कहा कि अस्पतालों को बकाया बिलों पर शवों को नहीं रोकना चाहिए और इस मुद्दे को हल करने के लिए एक नीति बनाई जाएगी। स्वास्थ्य सेवा में विदेशी निवेश को प्रतिबंधित करने और संभावित रूप से मूल्य सीमाएं लगाने के संबंध में केंद्र के साथ भी चर्चा की जाएगी।
