The Union Cabinet has approved ₹1.27 lakh crore for the second edition of the India Semiconductor Mission. IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced the decision on Wednesday. This initiative aims to boost India's semiconductor manufacturing capabilities and attract significant investments. The government expects the new scheme to draw investments of around ₹4 lakh crore, fostering domestic production and reducing reliance on imports for crucial electronic components.

कैबिनेट ने इंडिया सेमीकंडक्टर मिशन के दूसरे चरण के लिए ₹1.27 लाख करोड़ की मंज़ूरी दे दी है। IT मंत्री अश्विनी वैष्णव ने बुधवार को यह जानकारी दी। इस मिशन का मकसद भारत में सेमीकंडक्टर बनाने की क्षमता बढ़ाना और बड़े निवेश को आकर्षित करना है। सरकार को उम्मीद है कि इससे करीब ₹4 लाख करोड़ का निवेश आएगा, जिससे घरेलू उत्पादन बढ़ेगा और आयात पर निर्भरता कम होगी।
