India and Russia's joint BrahMos missile is set to become more lethal, with DRDO working to extend its range from 450 km to 800 km. This upgraded version will significantly enhance India's maritime and ground defence capabilities. Development testing is expected by mid-to-late 2027, with production potentially starting by late 2028. The extended range version is primarily for Indian armed forces, allowing strikes from much farther away. Russia will continue its cooperation, benefiting India with technology sharing and strengthening regional security.
