Supreme Court Mandates Registration for Autism Patients on Stem Cell Therapy Portal

The Supreme Court has ordered the Centre to establish a dedicated online portal for patients undergoing stem cell therapy for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) within six weeks. This portal will maintain a comprehensive database of patients, their medical records, treating practitioners, and therapy details. The directive applies to patients who began therapy before January 30, 2026, allowing them to continue treatment temporarily until a regulated research framework is in place.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने केंद्र सरकार को छह हफ्तों के अंदर ऑटिज्म स्पेक्ट्रम डिसऑर्डर (ASD) के लिए स्टेम सेल थेरेपी करा रहे मरीजों के लिए एक ऑनलाइन पोर्टल बनाने का आदेश दिया है। इस पोर्टल पर मरीजों, उनके मेडिकल रिकॉर्ड, इलाज करने वाले डॉक्टरों और थेरेपी की पूरी जानकारी का डेटाबेस रखा जाएगा। यह आदेश उन मरीजों पर लागू होगा जिन्होंने 30 जनवरी 2026 से पहले थेरेपी शुरू की थी, और उन्हें तब तक इलाज जारी रखने की इजाजत होगी जब तक कि एक रेगुलेटेड रिसर्च फ्रेमवर्क तैयार नहीं हो जाता।
