Cyclone Nears: Schools Shut, Relief Intensified in Three North Andhra Districts

Precautionary measures have been intensified in Visakhapatnam, Anakapalli, and Alluri Sitharama Raju districts as Cyclone Arnab approaches, prompting a red alert from the India Meteorological Department. Educational institutions in Visakhapatnam will remain closed on Tuesday and Wednesday, with beaches also shut. Relief camps are being prepared, and vulnerable populations are being identified for relocation. Similar measures are in place in Anakapalli, where schools will be closed from October 27 to 29. Andhra University has cancelled in-person classes, moving them online until November 4.

विशाखापत्तनम, अनाकापल्ली और अल्लूरी सीताराम राजू जिलों में चक्रवात अर्नाब के नज़दीक आने के कारण एहतियाती उपाय तेज़ कर दिए गए हैं, भारत मौसम विज्ञान विभाग ने रेड अलर्ट जारी किया है। विशाखापत्तनम में शैक्षणिक संस्थान मंगलवार और बुधवार को बंद रहेंगे, समुद्र तट भी बंद रहेंगे। राहत शिविर तैयार किए जा रहे हैं, और कमज़ोर आबादी की पहचान कर उन्हें स्थानांतरित किया जा रहा है। अनाकापल्ली में भी ऐसे ही उपाय किए जा रहे हैं, जहाँ 27 से 29 अक्टूबर तक स्कूल बंद रहेंगे। आंध्र यूनिवर्सिटी ने व्यक्तिगत कक्षाओं को रद्द कर दिया है, उन्हें 4 नवंबर तक ऑनलाइन कर दिया गया है।
