Germany Urges Deeper India Defence Ties

Germany's envoy to India, Jasper Wieck, has urged for deeper defence ties amid global geopolitical uncertainty. He stated that an estimated $8 billion pact for six submarines is finalised on the German side, awaiting India's internal processes. Wieck highlighted unmanned systems, cyber capabilities, and missile technology as potential areas for enhanced cooperation. Germany has eased export licence and technology transfer restrictions, calling it an '180-degree shift'.

जर्मनी के भारत में राजदूत जैस्पर विक ने कहा है कि दुनिया में भू-राजनीतिक अनिश्चितता को देखते हुए रक्षा संबंधों को और मजबूत करने की ज़रूरत है। उन्होंने बताया कि छह पनडुब्बियों के लिए करीब 8 अरब डॉलर का सौदा जर्मनी की तरफ से लगभग तय हो चुका है, बस भारत की आंतरिक प्रक्रियाएं बाकी हैं। विक ने ड्रोन, साइबर क्षमताएं और मिसाइल तकनीक जैसे क्षेत्रों में सहयोग बढ़ाने की बात कही।
