Rahul Gandhi Attacks Punjab Govt Over Activist's Murder

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has strongly criticized the Bhagwant Mann-led AAP government in Punjab following the daylight murder of anti-drug activist Parwinder Singh Jhota. Gandhi highlighted that speaking out against drugs in Punjab has become life-threatening under the current administration. He pointed to the case of Jhota, who was shot dead in Mansa while campaigning against drugs, and also cited the alleged harassment of another activist in Sangrur. Gandhi questioned who would protect those fighting against the drug trade if even complainants are booked by the police.

कांग्रेस नेता राहुल गांधी ने पंजाब में भगवंत मान के नेतृत्व वाली AAP सरकार की कड़ी आलोचना की है। यह आलोचना नशीली दवाओं के खिलाफ आवाज उठाने वाले कार्यकर्ता परविंदर सिंह झोटा की दिनदहाड़े हत्या के बाद हुई है। गांधी ने कहा कि मौजूदा सरकार के राज में पंजाब में नशे के खिलाफ बोलना जानलेवा हो गया है। उन्होंने मंसा में नशे के खिलाफ अभियान चलाने वाले झोटा की गोली मारकर हत्या का जिक्र किया। साथ ही संगरूर में एक अन्य कार्यकर्ता को कथित तौर पर परेशान करने का भी मामला उठाया। गांधी ने सवाल किया कि अगर पुलिस शिकायतकर्ताओं पर ही केस दर्ज कर लेगी, तो नशे के खिलाफ लड़ने वालों को कौन बचाएगा।
