Shipping Ministry Launches Two Credit Risk Insurance Products For Shipbuilding Industry

The Shipping Ministry has introduced two specialised credit risk insurance products to bolster India's shipbuilding sector under the National Shipbuilding Mission. The Shipbuilding Project Credit Risk Insurance Policy (SbPCP) will cover export projects, while the Business Credit Shield Policy Shipbuilders (BCSPS) will protect domestic projects. These policies aim to reduce financial stress in large-scale ship manufacturing by providing a safety net against delayed payments and market shifts. The central government will subsidise insurance premiums and support insurers with claims, allowing shipyards to focus on production.

शिपिंग मंत्रालय ने नेशनल शिपबिल्डिंग मिशन के तहत भारत के शिपबिल्डिंग क्षेत्र को बढ़ावा देने के लिए दो विशेष क्रेडिट रिस्क इंश्योरेंस उत्पाद पेश किए हैं। शिपबिल्डिंग प्रोजेक्ट क्रेडिट रिस्क इंश्योरेंस पॉलिसी (SbPCP) निर्यात परियोजनाओं को कवर करेगी, जबकि बिजनेस क्रेडिट शील्ड पॉलिसी शिपबिल्डर्स (BCSPS) घरेलू परियोजनाओं की रक्षा करेगी। इन पॉलिसियों का उद्देश्य देरी से भुगतान और बाजार में बदलाव के खिलाफ सुरक्षा जाल प्रदान करके बड़े पैमाने पर जहाज निर्माण में वित्तीय तनाव को कम करना है। केंद्र सरकार बीमा प्रीमियम पर सब्सिडी देगी और दावों में बीमाकर्ताओं का समर्थन करेगी, जिससे शिपयार्ड उत्पादन पर ध्यान केंद्रित कर सकेंगे।
