Keralam Govt Recommends Excluding Sabarimala From ESA Limits

The Keralam government has recommended the exclusion of Sabarimala from proposed Ecologically Sensitive Area (ESA) limits in its submission to the Union government. The map reportedly excludes Sabarimala Sannidhanam, Pampa, and the Nilakkal parking ground from these boundaries. However, Swami Ayyappan Road and the Pampa-Perunad route remain within the limits, crucial for transporting essentials. Despite these proposed exclusions, existing buffer zone regulations are likely to persist due to the area's location within the Periyar Tiger Reserve landscape. The government also proposed reducing the total ESA limit in Keralam.

केरलम सरकार ने केंद्र सरकार को सौंपी अपनी रिपोर्ट में सबरीमाला को प्रस्तावित इकोलॉजिकल सेंसिटिव एरिया (ईएसए) की सीमाओं से बाहर रखने की सिफारिश की है। रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक, सबरीमाला सानिधानम, पंपा और नीलाक्कल पार्किंग ग्राउंड को इन सीमाओं से बाहर रखा गया है। हालांकि, स्वामी अय्यप्पन रोड और पंपा-पेरुनाड मार्ग आवश्यक सामानों के परिवहन के लिए महत्वपूर्ण होने के कारण इन सीमाओं के भीतर ही रहेंगे। इन प्रस्तावित बहिष्करणों के बावजूद, पेरियार टाइगर रिजर्व परिदृश्य के भीतर क्षेत्र की स्थिति के कारण मौजूदा बफर जोन नियम बने रहने की संभावना है। सरकार ने केरलम में कुल ईएसए सीमा को कम करने का भी प्रस्ताव दिया है।
