13-Year-Old Leopard Dies of Cardiac Arrest at Kanpur Zoo

A 13-year-old male leopard named Murad died of cardiac arrest at Kanpur Zoo on Wednesday night. He had developed septicaemia from wounds he repeatedly reopened during treatment after injuring himself in his enclosure. Despite medical care, the infection worsened, leading to his death. Tissue samples will be sent to the Indian Veterinary Research Institute for examination to confirm the exact cause of death. Murad was transferred to Kanpur Zoological Park from the Moradabad Forest Division in August 2018.

बुधवार रात कानपुर चिड़ियाघर में 13 साल के नर तेंदुए 'मुराद' की हार्ट अटैक से मौत हो गई। वह अपने बाड़े में खुद को घायल करने के बाद इलाज के दौरान बार-बार घावों को फिर से खोल रहा था, जिससे उसे सेप्टिसीमिया हो गया था। मेडिकल देखभाल के बावजूद, संक्रमण बिगड़ गया और उसकी मौत हो गई। मौत के सटीक कारण की पुष्टि के लिए ऊतक के नमूनों को भारतीय पशु चिकित्सा अनुसंधान संस्थान (IVRI) में जांच के लिए भेजा जाएगा। मुराद को अगस्त 2018 में मुरादाबाद वन प्रभाग से कानपुर चिड़ियाघर में स्थानांतरित किया गया था।
