Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary stated that the state does not oppose sharing Ganga water with Bangladesh but insists Bihar's requirements must be fully met. He highlighted the need for assured water availability for agriculture, drinking, industry, and economic development, noting the current treaty limits Bihar's usage to only four months annually. Choudhary emphasized that Bihar, being a developing state, cannot compromise on its water necessities for growth. The current 30-year treaty, signed in 1996, is set to expire in December.
