Supreme Court Seeks UP Govt Affidavit on Yamuna Expressway Bus Fire Safety and Arrests

The Supreme Court has asked the Uttar Pradesh government for an affidavit detailing actions taken after a bus fire on the Yamuna Expressway killed nine passengers. The court wants to know if the driver and owner have been arrested and if the bus complied with all safety and regulatory requirements before being used. Justices JB Pardiwala and KV Viswanathan also requested information on the bus's permit, fitness, and insurance.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार से यमुना एक्सप्रेसवे पर बस में आग लगने से नौ यात्रियों की मौत के बाद की गई कार्रवाई का ब्योरा देते हुए हलफनामा मांगा है। कोर्ट जानना चाहता है कि क्या ड्राइवर और मालिक को गिरफ्तार किया गया है और क्या बस के इस्तेमाल से पहले वह सभी सुरक्षा और नियामक आवश्यकताओं का पालन करती थी। जस्टिस जेबी पारदीवाला और केवी विश्वनाथन ने बस के परमिट, फिटनेस और बीमा के बारे में भी जानकारी मांगी है।
