Mohali's Olympian Balbir Singh Senior International Hockey Stadium has undergone a ₹9 crore upgrade to host the Hero Asian Champions Trophy 2026 semifinals and final. The tournament, scheduled from October 27 to November 5, will see participation from teams including India, Japan, and South Korea. Mohali municipal corporation mayor Sarabjit Singh Samana reviewed preparations, emphasizing the event's role in boosting the city's sporting profile and inspiring young athletes. The Punjab government is investing ₹25 crore in the tournament, with additional funds allocated for sports infrastructure development across the state.

मोहाली के ओलंपियन बलबीर सिंह सीनियर इंटरनेशनल हॉकी स्टेडियम को हीरो एशियन चैंपियंस ट्रॉफी 2026 के सेमीफाइनल और फाइनल की मेजबानी के लिए ₹9 करोड़ के अपग्रेड से गुजारा गया है। 27 अक्टूबर से 5 नवंबर तक होने वाले इस टूर्नामेंट में भारत, जापान और दक्षिण कोरिया सहित टीमें भाग लेंगी। मोहाली नगर निगम के मेयर सरबजीत सिंह समाना ने तैयारियों की समीक्षा की, जिसमें शहर की खेल प्रोफाइल को बढ़ावा देने और युवा एथलीटों को प्रेरित करने में कार्यक्रम की भूमिका पर जोर दिया गया। पंजाब सरकार टूर्नामेंट में ₹25 करोड़ का निवेश कर रही है, साथ ही राज्य भर में खेल के बुनियादी ढांचे के विकास के लिए अतिरिक्त धन आवंटित किया गया है।
