India's automobile retail sales saw a significant year-on-year decline of 23.80% in October, totaling 31.72 lakh units. This drop is attributed to a higher sales base last year, boosted by festivals and GST rate cuts. While sales increased by 25.05% compared to September, the shift in festival dates, with Diwali falling in November this year, is expected to impact November's sales figures. Despite the overall dip, October recorded the second-highest retail sales for the month historically, with commercial vehicles, three-wheelers, and tractors achieving record segment sales.

भारत में ऑटोमोबाइल खुदरा बिक्री में अक्टूबर में पिछले साल की तुलना में 23.80% की भारी गिरावट आई, जो कुल 31.72 लाख यूनिट रही। यह गिरावट पिछले साल त्योहारी सीजन और GST दरों में कटौती के कारण बिक्री के ऊंचे स्तर के कारण है। हालांकि सितंबर की तुलना में बिक्री 25.05% बढ़ी, लेकिन त्योहारों की तारीखों में बदलाव, इस साल दिवाली नवंबर में पड़ने के कारण, नवंबर की बिक्री के आंकड़ों पर असर पड़ने की उम्मीद है। कुल गिरावट के बावजूद, अक्टूबर में ऐतिहासिक रूप से इस महीने के लिए दूसरी सबसे अधिक खुदरा बिक्री दर्ज की गई, जिसमें वाणिज्यिक वाहन, तीन-पहिया वाहन और ट्रैक्टरों ने रिकॉर्ड सेगमेंट बिक्री हासिल की।
