US to Deport Afghan Migrants, Including Relatives of US Allies, to Pakistan

Times of India · world

Dozens of Afghan migrants detained in the US are facing deportation as early as next week, with some potentially including relatives of those who aided American forces. Immigration lawyers and advocacy groups are raising alarms, fearing that deportees could face persecution or torture under Taliban rule. A court filing indicates one deportation flight is scheduled to take an individual to Pakistan, with further transport to Afghanistan. Hundreds of Afghan immigrants are reportedly held in ICE detention facilities, with many international deportation flights departing from Louisiana.
