A row has erupted in Tamil Nadu over the use of Hindi on medicine packets distributed at two government hospitals in Coimbatore and Karur. The opposition DMK criticised the ruling Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam government, questioning if the three-language formula was being implemented. The Health Minister retorted that similar packaging was approved during the previous DMK regime, citing emergency orders and administrative approvals from as early as December 2025 and January 2026. He accused the DMK of a disgraceful political tactic, stating the use of these covers has since been halted.
