Nashik Traffic Cop Killed, 8 Injured in Speeding Sedan Crash During Navaratra

A traffic police sub-inspector, Vijay Gavit, was killed and eight others were injured when a speeding sedan crashed into devotees and police personnel near Nashik. The incident occurred early Saturday morning on the Saptashrungi Gad route, which was crowded with pilgrims for Navaratra. The sedan first hit a two-wheeler before losing control and veering into the crowd. Barricades prevented a larger tragedy by stopping the car from hitting a dense group of devotees. The driver fled the scene, and police have formed teams to apprehend him.
