US Signs Russia-Iran Sanctions Law With Tariff Threat

US President Donald Trump has signed the Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act into law, expanding sanctions on Russia and extending those on Iran. The legislation authorizes tariffs of up to 100 per cent on countries purchasing Russian oil and gas, including India and China. The law targets Russia's leadership, energy sector, and defense industry collaborators. It grants the President broad discretion over implementation, including tariff rates and waivers, and comes into effect within 30 days.
