India's fiscal deficit expanded to ₹7.10 trillion, representing 41.9% of the full-year budget estimate, in the first five months of FY27. This widening is attributed to increased capital expenditure and higher outlays on major subsidies like food and fertiliser. Total expenditure reached ₹20.78 trillion, while total receipts stood at ₹13.68 trillion during April-August. Despite the increased spending, capital expenditure is progressing in line with the fiscal deficit trajectory, indicating substantial execution of planned capital spending.

वित्त वर्ष 2027 के पहले पांच महीनों में भारत का राजकोषीय घाटा बढ़कर ₹7.10 ट्रिलियन हो गया, जो पूरे साल के बजट अनुमान का 41.9% है। इस बढ़ोतरी की वजह पूंजीगत व्यय में वृद्धि और खाद्य व उर्वरक जैसी प्रमुख सब्सिडी पर अधिक खर्च है। अप्रैल-अगस्त के दौरान कुल व्यय ₹20.78 ट्रिलियन रहा, जबकि कुल प्राप्तियां ₹13.68 ट्रिलियन थीं। बढ़े हुए खर्च के बावजूद, पूंजीगत व्यय राजकोषीय घाटे की राह पर चल रहा है, जो नियोजित पूंजीगत खर्च के बड़े पैमाने पर निष्पादन का संकेत देता है।
