WhatsApp Scam Alert: New Feature To Warn Users About Suspicious Chats

TV9 Hindi · technology

WhatsApp is developing a new 'Scam Alert' feature to protect users from online fraud. This tool will identify suspicious conversations originating from unknown numbers, which often impersonate bank officials or company representatives. The system uses advanced machine learning models that analyze message patterns directly on the user's smartphone, ensuring privacy as chat content is not sent to servers. If a scam is detected, users will receive a clear warning, allowing them to block, report, or mark the chat as trusted, giving them full control over their interactions.
