Gorakhpur, once hampered by industrial stagnation, is now emerging as a significant growth centre. Over the past nine years, the city has seen substantial development in industry, infrastructure, healthcare, and education. Industrial investment in Gorakhpur has surged dramatically, reaching Rs 11,618.75 crore between 2017 and 2025, a stark increase from Rs 29.33 crore in the preceding five years. The revival of a large gas-based fertiliser plant, commissioned in December 2021, has been a key milestone, stimulating demand for ancillary businesses and strengthening the Purvanchal region's industrial base.
