A state-of-the-art trauma care centre at Sambalpur District Headquarters Hospital, inaugurated nearly 10 months ago, remains non-operational. A civil society group has filed a complaint seeking an investigation into the significant delay. The facility, built at a cost of over Rs 21 crore, reportedly lacks essential medical professionals and support staff. The Chief District Medical Officer stated that the centre will soon be operational, with old hospital buildings being demolished and departments shifted to the new facility.

सम्बलपुर जिला मुख्यालय अस्पताल में एक अत्याधुनिक ट्रॉमा केयर सेंटर, जिसका उद्घाटन लगभग 10 महीने पहले हुआ था, अभी तक चालू नहीं हुआ है। एक नागरिक समाज समूह ने इस बड़ी देरी की जांच की मांग करते हुए शिकायत दर्ज कराई है। 21 करोड़ रुपये से अधिक की लागत से बने इस केंद्र में कथित तौर पर आवश्यक चिकित्सा पेशेवरों और सहायक कर्मचारियों की कमी है। मुख्य जिला चिकित्सा अधिकारी ने कहा कि पुराने अस्पताल भवनों को गिराया जा रहा है और विभागों को नई सुविधा में स्थानांतरित किया जा रहा है, जिससे केंद्र जल्द ही चालू हो जाएगा।
