US Pulls Military Gear From Iraq

The United States has started removing heavy military equipment, including air-defence systems, from Iraqi Kurdistan. This comes as the U.S.-led coalition's mission in Iraq nears its September 30 deadline. Remaining U.S. personnel are expected to redeploy mainly to Jordan and other regional locations. Kurdish officials have expressed concern that the removal of Patriot and C-RAM defences could increase the region's vulnerability to attacks from Iran and its aligned militias.
