UP Minister Says BJP Could Improve, SP Didn't Win MLC Polls

Uttar Pradesh Minister Dayashankar Singh commented on the MLC election results, stating that while the BJP's performance could have been better, the SP did not achieve victory. He noted that the SP retained only its existing seats, with significant changes only observed in Lucknow. Singh highlighted that the BJP won six seats and questioned the SP's performance in Gorakhpur, where they allegedly finished third or fourth. He dismissed the SP's allegations of rigging as a pre-planned excuse for defeat.

उत्तर प्रदेश के मंत्री दयाशंकर सिंह ने एमएलसी चुनाव के नतीजों पर टिप्पणी करते हुए कहा कि बीजेपी का प्रदर्शन बेहतर हो सकता था, लेकिन सपा जीत हासिल नहीं कर पाई। उन्होंने कहा कि सपा ने केवल अपनी मौजूदा सीटें बरकरार रखीं, और केवल लखनऊ में महत्वपूर्ण बदलाव देखे गए। सिंह ने बताया कि बीजेपी ने छह सीटें जीतीं और गोरखपुर में सपा के प्रदर्शन पर सवाल उठाया, जहां कथित तौर पर वे तीसरे या चौथे स्थान पर रहीं। उन्होंने सपा के धांधली के आरोपों को हार के लिए पहले से सोची-समझी बहानेबाजी बताया।
