TMC, Congress Question EC's Voter Inclusion Drive Timing Post-Polls

Times of India · politics

West Bengal's ruling TMC and opposition Congress have questioned the EC decision to launch a proactive voter inclusion drive. Both parties allege the EC rushed a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) before assembly elections, leading to the deletion of eligible voters. They accuse the EC of colluding with the BJP and demand accountability for discrepancies. Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh criticized Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar for the timing. The EC states district election officers are working to identify and re-include deleted eligible voters through special camps.
