The Rajasthan government's Commercial Tax Department has initiated a statewide enforcement drive to combat GST evasion and fraudulent input tax credit claims. This campaign, ongoing for over two months, involves surveys and investigations targeting businesses suspected of illegal activities. Recent operations in Jaipur, Ajmer, and other locations have uncovered potential tax irregularities amounting to approximately ₹2.85 crore. Taxpayers have voluntarily deposited or reversed about ₹2.51 crore of these amounts, including significant reversals related to resort construction and property development.
