Times of India · india

Goa police have arrested suspended crime branch inspector Vikas Deykar, 40, and co-accused Rajani Palekar, 37, in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a 16-year-old girl. The minor had filed a complaint stating she was assaulted by Deykar in his office on two occasions this year. Palekar was allegedly seen bringing the girl to the crime branch office. Police stated both accused were arrested due to non-cooperation during investigations and inconsistencies in their statements. The arrest follows criticism over the delay.
