EY India Chief Seeks Easier GST Refunds and Tax Credits

EY India chairman and CEO Rajiv Memani has urged the GST Council to expedite refunds and resolve issues concerning input tax credit accumulation. He also called for simplifying GST processes, including audits, and consolidating them at the central level. Memani highlighted that GST reforms have significantly contributed to India's economic growth, boosting sectors like consumer goods and automobiles. He believes further user-friendly reforms can enhance GST's positive impact on the economy, leading to increased hiring and investment.
