Odisha Farmers Protest Textbook Errors With Bandh

A farmers' outfit called a 12-hour bandh in Odisha on Wednesday to protest alleged large-scale errors in school textbooks. The Naba Nirman Krushak Sangathan (NNKS) is demanding the resignation of the School and Mass Education Minister over the issue. The organization claims over 1,700 errors were found, including factual inaccuracies and misplaced images. Shops, markets, and public transport were expected to remain closed during the peaceful protest. The NNKS has been observing a relay hunger strike since August 20.

ओडिशा में किसानों के एक संगठन ने स्कूल की किताबों में कथित तौर पर बड़े पैमाने पर गलतियों के विरोध में बुधवार को 12 घंटे का बंद बुलाया। नबा निर्माण कृषक संगठन (NNKS) इस मुद्दे पर स्कूल और जन शिक्षा मंत्री के इस्तीफे की मांग कर रहा है। संगठन का दावा है कि 1,700 से अधिक गलतियाँ पाई गई हैं, जिनमें तथ्यात्मक अशुद्धियाँ और गलत जगह पर लगी तस्वीरें शामिल हैं। शांतिपूर्ण विरोध प्रदर्शन के दौरान दुकानें, बाजार और सार्वजनिक परिवहन बंद रहने की उम्मीद थी। NNKS 20 अगस्त से एक रिले हंगर स्ट्राइक कर रहा है।
