Several Noida sectors are experiencing a severe water crisis due to the annual maintenance shutdown of the Ganga water supply canal. Residents in sectors 71, 72, 31, 55, and 56 are relying on expensive private water tankers to meet daily needs. The Noida authority has assured that supply is expected to resume around November 10. This annual exercise involves desilting the canal, which typically affects supply for a period. However, residents report this year's shortage is unprecedented, with inadequate water pressure and some supply being undrinkable.
