Indian equity markets closed slightly higher on Thursday, with the Nifty rising 0.2% to 23,270.6 points. Investors absorbed the US Federal Reserve's anticipated interest rate hike, the first in three years. Both US and Indian interest rates had already adjusted in expectation of this move. The Fed's 25-basis-point hike helped cool bond yields, with the US 10-Year bond falling below 5%.
